Chasing is a method of forming precise channels in walls, floors and ceilings to conceal conduits and pipework. Chases are cut to a specified width and depth using hand-held angle grinders or chasing machines fitted with diamond blades. The chases are then broken-out with a small breaker, leaving neat channels requiring minimal making good. Chases can be formed in all types of masonry and reinforced concrete. Effective dust control is achieved by attaching a powerful dust extraction unit to the grinder via a flexible hose.
