For smaller diameters and softer materials, handheld core drilling is employed, whereas larger diameters and harder materials necessitate the use of core drilling rigs. Depending on site conditions, these rigs can be anchored using mechanical anchors, chemical anchors, vacuum pads, acrow props, or weights. Our diverse array of diamond drilling rigs varies in design and power output, with motors available in electric, hydraulic, or pneumatic options to meet specific site requirements. Additionally, we utilise self-propelled coring rigs for drilling through slabs and roads in locations such as carriageways, airports, and industrial estates.
Typical applications of core drilling include creating holes and openings for plumbing, electrical, and ventilation systems, installing anchor fixings, conducting test coring, piling, and installing carriageway safety barriers.
For situations where sawing is unsuitable, stitch drilling serves as an effective alternative for creating openings. This method involves drilling a series of overlapping holes around the perimeter of the desired opening, isolating the central section from the surrounding structure once completed.
